Sustainability at The Marine
- Towel Reuse Program: Encouraging guests to help conserve water and reduce detergent use through our towel reuse policy.
- Eco-Friendly Water Fixtures: All guest rooms are equipped with hot water flow restrictors and eco-showerheads, minimizing water and electricity usage during the heating process.
- Water-Saving Toilets: Dual flush toilets have been installed in most guest rooms.
- Energy-Efficient Geysers: Geysers are set to 55°C to reduce energy consumption, with vacant geysers turned off to save energy.
- Low-Energy Lighting: We are replacing tungsten lighting with low-wattage, energy-efficient alternatives as part of an ongoing project.
- Improved Kitchen Efficiency: Fridge curtains were installed in the kitchens to conserve energy.
- Bio-Fuel Recycling: Used kitchen oil is collected and recycled by an external company to produce bio-fuel.
- Gas Fireplaces: All fireplaces were converted to gas to reduce environmental impact.
- Smart Irrigation Systems: Timed irrigation systems minimize water evaporation by operating at dusk and dawn.
- Recycling Program: A dedicated recycling center ensures that glass, paper, cardboard, and plastic are sorted and recycled efficiently.
